ever notice how EVERYONE either attends or throws a superbowl party? even if they didn't watch a football game all season. even if they don't know when the season is. even if they don't understand the game. everyone participates.

even people who, in high school, couldn't have cared less about the superbowl. the artsy hipster kids; the nerdy science geeks; me.

for some reason, when you get older, the superbowl is a great reason to get people together. and when you're older and you have jobs, and you have homes and even have kids and spouses, you need a reason to get together. you don't live near each other. you don't see each other socially unless someone makes it happen.

so you all get together on a couch in front of the tv and eat and laugh and yell and watch commercials. even if you don't care about the game. you enjoy the company.
