damn you, andrew lloyd weber!!!

had the most fun last night with new friend marta and her fiance drew, his friend ian who was visiting from nc, and marta's friend meg. you might remember these folks from last week's sound of music adventure. WELL, we had another adventure last night. i met up with everyone at a thai place in the mission last night, and marta immediately brought up "phantom". Because apparently drew and ian share a deep love of the music of the night. it was hilarious. ian had brought the dvd, and the two were trading lines of song all night long.

i had been super into "phantom" once upon a time. in 7th grade. when mr. anzivino, our music teacher, introduced us to the score in music class. i was obsessed. i had the double cd soundtrack and i saw it for my birthday at the majestic in nyc - my uncle mike got us fabulous tickets. and then, somehow, i was done with andrew lloyed weber. but he is not done with me. because last night i had to listen to practically the entire play belted along the sidewalks of san francisco, and at bar counters across the mission.

among other interesting topics of discussion: marta's stint as a christian puppeteer, which included an informative lesson on the art of puppeteering; a brief conversation about my cable access tv experience; and a heated debate on the definition of the word "species" (for example, if a chihuahua and a wolf met in the woods, and were both in heat, would they get it on, or would they not? if you forced them to, would they produce non-sterile offspring? would it be physically possible for a female chihuahua to get it on with a male wolf? is it a question of physical size, or amorous ambition?) it was a pretty fun discussion.

so, again i hung with some great new friends in san francisco, and yet have a job interview next week in seattle. which makes me nervous and sad and excited and anxious.

after getting home at 3am, i was awoken at 8:30 by caitlin and about 20 of her crazy 7th grade friends screeching and jumping on the trampoline directly outside my bedroom window.
